Biblical Discipleship

Connecting life’s struggles to the person and work of Jesus

“The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made” (Psalm 145 v 9)

As a Christian, you know that your trust in Jesus should make a difference to life’s journey. But sometimes he feels distant, and the connection is hard to make.

In God’s kindness and by his grace, our one-to-one sessions will help you to draw closer to Jesus, the one who loved you and gave his life for you.

I use an approach which is rooted in biblical wisdom, and seeks to help us to know the love of God even while walking through the darker valleys of life.

About Me

My name is Richard Haddow. I became a Christian in my mid-thirties, over twenty years ago. I’m part of the leadership team at North Bradley Baptist Church (nbbc.org.uk).

I’m not a psychologist or formally accredited counsellor, but I’ve completed several years of training with Biblical Counselling UK (2017-2021), and have been working with people one-to-one over the last seven years, either in person (Trowbridge, Wiltshire) or remotely on Zoom.

Approach

Typically our first session would be 90 minutes long, with subsequent sessions either 60 or 90 minutes as agreed, normally taking place fortnightly.

There is no up-front commitment to more than one session, but I’d generally recommend six sessions before reviewing progress.

Prayer and biblical principles will be used to guide our times together, and our understanding of the struggles you face will be shaped by a biblical lens.

I also acknowledge the importance of the local church in God’s redemptive plan. With your consent, and assuming you are part of a church, I would want to reflect aspects of our conversations back to your church leadership, unless there are specific reasons why this could be harmful.

My normal fee per session is based on a rate of £40 / hour, but I am happy to consider a reduction if cost would be a barrier for you.
